Jugiong overnight, then home
2nd August 2025
The Lake Talbot Holiday Park in Narrandera is probably the best park we have stayed in this trip. It was hard to fault anything there.
Today we have a shorter cross country trip to Jugiong through a few small towns a great scenery. We had already decided that we would stop in Junee for our morning coffee, and The Junee Chocolate and Liquorice Factory seemed the perfect venue.
On the site of a 5 story abandoned flour mill, a substantial liquorice and chocolate factory has been established with a large cafe and dining outlets included. We were ready for a cup of coffee when we arrived so headed for the cafe first before exploring the rest of the site.
On the way out, of course you need to pass through the store selling their products and we acquired some chocolate coated liquorice, a good combination of their two key products.
The plan is to be in Jugiong for lunch, and we take the shortest route from Junee, which takes us through some small towns, stunning green hills and often roads that were a bit narrower than preferred. Nevertheless we did arrive in Jugiongat about 1 pm. Free parked in the Memorial Park, off grid, and wandered across the road to have lunch at the Long Track Cafe. As was the case when we were last here, there are a lot of people parked in the Main Street. We had initially thought we might eat at the Sir George Hotel, but when I looked to book a week ago, it was already booked out. We will have a nice meal in the van instead.
It was dark and overcast this afternoon with a few rain sprinkles, so we sat in the van and watched Netflix using our starlink. There is no free to air reception here.
Tomorrow morning we will head back home, hopefully the weather in Sydney will have improved by then.
